New keys made for 23 Jeep Cherokee on Delaware Ave in Buffalo NY
Last week we got a call from a customer who was stuck near Delaware Ave in Buffalo. They had a 2023 Jeep Cherokee and needed new keys made on the spot. No problem – that’s what we do at Red Key LLC.
We loaded up the van and headed out. If you know Buffalo, Delaware Ave runs right through some beautiful neighborhoods, not far from the shops and restaurants near Elmwood Village. It was a nice day to be working in that part of town.
When we got there, we pulled out the Smart Pro programmer and got to work. Modern Jeeps like this 2023 Cherokee use proximity keys with transponder chips, so you can’t just cut a key at the hardware store anymore. The vehicle’s computer needs to recognize the new key before it’ll let you start the car. That’s where the specialized equipment comes in.
The whole job took about 45 minutes. We programmed the new key fob, made sure it started the vehicle, and tested the remote lock and unlock functions. Customer was back on the road without having to get towed to a dealership or wait days for an appointment.
