New keys made for a 2025 VW atlas in Tonawanda NY
Last monday we got a call from a customer in Tonawanda who needed help with their brand new 2025 VW Atlas.
They lost their keys and needed new ones made. We headed over to meet them at a parking garage near the Gateway Harbor.
The job was pretty straightforward but took some time. We had to make new keys from scratch and then program them to work with the vehicle.
The 2025 Atlas uses advanced security features so you can’t just cut a key and go.
Everything needs to be coded into the car’s computer system. Our tech brought all the equipment needed – diagnostic laptop, key cutting machine, and the blank keys.
We worked right there in the vehicle to get everything set up. The coding process took about an hour because we had to sync both keys to the car’s systems and make sure all the buttons worked right.
The customer was happy they didn’t have to get the car towed to a dealership. That would have cost way more money and taken days to get an appointment. We finished the whole job in about 90 minutes and tried both keys to make sure they started the car and worked the lock.
