Losing a car key is never convenient, but when it happens at a dealership, it can create a real headache. That was the case recently at Enterprise Car Sales in Amherst, NY. They had a 2020 Honda Accord on their lot, but no key to start it or even unlock the doors. With the car stuck in place and no easy solution, they called Red Key LLC to get things sorted out.
As soon as we got the call, we knew this job would require both a lockout service and a full key replacement. Our team arrived at the lot in the evening, ready to get to work. The first step was unlocking the car and getting in. we carefully unlocked the car without causing any damage. It had to be done with the right tools as its not an easy task.
With access to the vehicle, the next step was creating a brand-new key fob and coding it as well. Newer key fobs aren’t just about cutting a key – they need to be programmed specifically for the car’s system. We hooked up our diagnostic equipment into the OBD, programmed the new fob, and tested every function.
After final checks, the new key was good to go, and the 2020 Honda Accord was back in action, ready to be sold.
